This is a city cemetery. It’s Bastrop Texas’ cemetery. I can recommend this cemetery. The process to purchase a plot is simple. It is a cemetery that has been there since the days of Indian raids. The first burials had armed persons on guard in case Indians attacked during a burial. It is well kept and quiet now. You can place a concrete curb around your plot if you want to. You can place benches and ornaments also. I have to say I like this cemetery very much since I bought a space in it for me many years ago. I’ll be next to a grass walkway to my left, in front of my feet will be the road and a water faucet to my right and next to the road, just a few strides away will be a great white gazebo. I have sat in the gazebo and looked over the cemetery and my plot and it is a comfortable place to rest. I will have a simple military marker of white marble and no wife or children or any other relatives in the entire cemetery. I can be buried with my cat but he died before me and I buried him in back of my house. I would have to have him disinterred and cremated to be buried with me. No one wants my house after I’m gone so I don’t know what to do with him.
This is a beautiful landmark in Bastrop, TX. The grounds are well kept, I don't believe I've ever seen any trash on the ground, there are porta-potties as well which I thought was considerate. There are a few Pokemon Go stops and two gyms, so fairly often a group of us all will tackle a raid there. Now, if you go to the top most point the views are spectacular. You can see all of old Bastrop, spilling out into the valley towards the Colorado River and past towards Austin.
