La Parrillada

Friendly service...half orders a plus. Bi-lingual..... Nachos were great and the sauce very good and spicy....but not hot..

We stopped by on the road home to Austin from vacay in Galveston and we were hungry for some good Mexican… La Parrillada did not disappoint.

Our 10 year old had beef crunchy tacos - home fired shells and perfectly seasoned beef.

Our 5 yr old had bean and cheese tacos and said she wanted to live here.

My wife had the shrimp salad - so fresh and perfectly cooked, as well as the chicken tortilla soup, which I was not allowed to try :).

I had the mini tacos, and I loved all of them.
I wish I could give more stars, and we were too hungry to snap any photos…. But do yourself a favor and stop here!!!!

Amazing food!! So fresh and balanced. My shrimp salad and tortilla soup were so good. It is very clean - another plus 👍🏻

It was late when we got there, maybe about 45 min before closing. But we had just left another popular local Mexican food restaurant because we saw that they didn't use real cheddar cheese, but that shredded American cheese. I cannot stand Mexican food that doesn't use real cheddar. So we found this place and decided to try it.
The waitress was friendly. I wanted a cheese enchilada and a chicken enchilada combo, but she said they couldn't do that (weird). So I just got the cheese...because that's what I was really craving. I loved my cheese enchiladas, and they used REAL cheddar cheese!
Unfortunately, my husband's order was not good. He likes to order the bacon wrapped shrimp at Mexican restaurants, and that's what he got. They were VERY over cooked. I considered them pretty much inedible. But it was late, and he didn't want to bother the cook because he knew they were breaking down the kitchen. We hoped they don't always serve them that way.
I think I had a strawberry margarita too, and it was good.
We will definitely go there again to try more food. I just wish they had combo enchilada dishes.
