I just underwent a complete new avionics and panel upgrade with Bison Aviation and I am extremely impressed. We are talking all new avionics, new custom panel, new autopilot, new lights, engine monitoring, etc. They did a spectacular job of communicating with me throughout the process of where we stood and answered the many many questions I had. The panel looks amazing and is incredible to fly behind. They did a great job of working with me on the planning phase to make sure I got my dream panel! Mission accomplished it is truly awesome! All the people who worked on the plane seemed to have a genuine love of their jobs and seemed to really enjoy my project, despite the incredible hard work that a project like this takes. What really impressed me over previous shops is that if there were concerns I had, I was able to speak to the owner in a way that we could both understand the others perspective and get on the same page. Like any giant upgrade there will always be fine tuning and a few squawks to work on after. They jumped right on those without delay. I rarely say I would recommend a company, however after my experience I would be happy to recommend Bison for your A&P and Avionics needs. Professional, knowledgable and courteous. Thanks to the Bison team my vintage airplane isn't looking so vintage anymore!
The relationship started off with one of their lead mechanics helping me out after hours when he noticed I needed a hand. So, I gave them a chance at my business with a full LoPresti tri beam kit and Whelen nav/strobes. The owner John gave me a compelling bid and worked with me through it until I was completely satisfied. Since, I've had several after hour questions, one AOG situation, and numerous scheduled maintenance visits. These guys work you in like you're their only customer (really, planes out the hangar door busy), and they bill fairly - for a rate less than the bigger shops.
Licking my wounds from a terrible experience at a Cirrus Service Center at KSAT... I'll be doing all future business with Bison. I'm adamant about it and have already sent several friends over. PS - folks with Cirruses and other fast composites seem to already know about Bison's work, so better hurry and join me in line.
Great service. They treat any squawk like it’s AOG. Great work (again) Bison!
The shop did high quality work troubleshooting and replacing my alternator and the mechanics have been very helpful throughout my experience. I had them do an annual on my aircraft later in the year and they were very up front with their findings, and even took the time to walk me through each issue they found that needed to be addressed. Bison is clearly very dedicated to providing a positive customer experience, and is willing to go above and beyond to make things right when there is an issue.
Great Service
