Gorgeous, gothic style church. Priests seem sincere and devoted to their calling. Several Mass times on Sunday (and Sat evening vigil) make it very convenient for nearly any schedule - and I work in medical field so I am very grateful.
Beautiful Mass. Reverent ad orentum Tridentine form at in English at the 7 am. Beautiful Church, chapel and icons. God himself led me here. I cannot say enough, well enough about his parish. Any Catholic in the area owes it to themselves to attend Mass here
An absolutely wonderful Church and school. We were looking for a Catholic school that taught classical education. Last year we set up an interview to tour the academy. The staff and teachers were very welcoming and answered all of our questions. We knew immediate this was going to be our new school. We cannot be more happy with our decision, as our children's education has so far exceeded our expectations. The school also focuses on developing virtues in their students which was something I had not anticipated, but am truly grateful for. The school frequently holds meetings to update the community of its activities and the communication via email has been constant. The children also attend Mass regularly which admittedly concerned us at first because our children aren't that well behaved during Mass. However we had nothing to fear. They do better when we aren't around to hush them, and I guess seeing their peers, including the older kids, behave during Mass is a great motivator.
As to the Church's liturgy (worship), there seems to be some confusion by some of the comments in the reviews I've read. Some have stated that this is an Anglican Church. This is not an Anglican Church. It is a Catholic Church in full communion with the pope. However, the parish is an Anglican Use parish which means that its founding members were at one time Anglican (or Episcopalian), but wished to be received into full communion with the Roman Catholic Church. St. Pope John Paul II granted this wish and allowed the parish to retain its liturgical traditions.
Since then, many other Anglican bodies have entered into full communion with the Catholic Church, and under Pope Benedict XVI a new diocese was created to oversee these churches. Our Lady of the Atonement is now included in this new diocese called the Personal Ordinariate of the Chair of Saint Peter. The bishop who oversees the Anglican Use parishes across the U.S. and Canada is currently Bishop Lopes from Houston Texas.
I hope that clears up some confusion. A Google search of 'Ordinariate' or 'Anglican Use' would probably be of better assistance than I.
Thank you for reading,

I just love this church. I visited many Catholic churches all over but this one was special. We love the traditional mass. Its not for your New age or Vatican 2 Catholics. It is all about reverence for our Lord. I hope it stay this way forever

(210) 695-2944. What a beautiful parish. My husband and I have been searching for the perfect place to take our family and we found it here. We love how traditional it is. The readings are beautiful and the whole Mass itself is just incredible. Father Phillips has done a phenomenal job, as well as Fr.

This is the trailer I made when asked to film and produce a DVD of the worship service for my parish, Our Lady of the Atonement Catholic Church in San Antonio, Texas. The video shows the beautiful Anglican Use liturgy, along with sacred music, and a congregation that worships in a reverent manner.
