Pepe's Barbacoa

I was born and raised on the west side of San Antonio. The place my father always went to closed down years ago and I have never found a better place until three years ago when I found this amazing little place. I used to live 3 blocks from here and stumbled on it my husband said let see what this little place is about. Like small in size big in flavor and service. These people are so kind welcoming and they have the best Barbacoa in the city hands down! I moved a few months ago out of the city limits but on Sundays I’m driving into town for this good! God bless them always. Truly genuine people.

Update: Have been back again, and it’s still delicious. Leftovers warm up with so much flavor. I steam it for 10 mins, and it comes out perfect.

I visited San Antonio for a week and found this little place. I was on my way to visit my uncle and wanted to have the authentic barbacoa experience with my children and family. The owners are very kind and nice. The all meat Barbacoa, flour and corn tortillas were amazing and the hot sauce was delicious. My uncle said it was the best he had. I agree. You have to have cash but if you don't there are a few gas stations down the street with ATMs.

Ohhhhhh the food SMACKS ✋ for my fellow tourists and native San Antonians - if you’re looking for barbacoa tacos you can stop looking, you found your spot 🌮 the flavor and quality of their meat is very authentic

My favorite thing about our visit is the family that owns this establishment is so humble and they have top tier customer service. You’ll walk in to walls lined with their family photos and memories all around

Such a wonderful authentic puro San Antonio barbacoa restaurant. The staff is super friendly and welcoming. The barbacoa was so delicious and not overly great. Must try! And the tamales are off the chain. I highly recommend this as a South Presa stop.
