Lockhart State Park

Smaller than a lot of Texas state parks. However, the smallness is a positive in my book. Much quieter than most parks and a quick trip to town for some of the best BBQ anywhere.

I got married here in 2007 at the top of the hill. Just went there on 4/20/2022 for a birthday party. It's a very nice park. The golf course is nice. The pool is nice. You can fish in the creek, hike, or stay in your RV. There is a playground. And at the top of the hill they have a recreation hall for events. You can see the whole town of lockhart from there.

My husband and I are novice campers, but I have to say this seems like a pretty overlooked park. They don't have too many trails, but the trails they do have are quite beautiful. The park itself is very well kept and the staff is incredibly nice. The people in general are very nice. This is a safe park and I felt very comfortable here.

Lovely trails and they're all pretty easy. There is a golf course there that I'm told is nice, but I don't play golf so I couldn't tell you. The picnic area is really pretty and so is the tent camping area.

Great place. Great staff. Paths around the woods are pretty well maintained and they got a playground, pool, and camping areas. Watch out for snakes!
