I’m one of ‘those’ full-timers!
I’m one of “those” full-timers (about a year and a half now, with no end in sight) at Pecan Park and I love it here! It is quieter, safer, and with the pecan trees and river access RIGHT there, more beautiful than anywhere else I’ve ever lived (and I had several very nice homes over the years.) I feel like I’m in a little slice of heaven in the country where I don’t do any of the yard work, have access to a pool I don’t have to clean, a wonderful community of folks, both the full-timers and weekenders, and am so close to shopping and whatever else San Marcos has to offer.
Did the pool used to have some dumb rules? Sounds like it, but now it’s open for all, and NOT “closed for repairs” like it had been too often in the last year. I know that calls hadn’t been returned in the past (I was one of those really frustrated customers who experienced that for quite awhile) but that is no longer the case. I know that some people experienced not-so-great customer service (I did too), but that ship has sailed. I know that someone’s code for the gate was changed without being apprised, and so was mine some months back. All infuriating for us, the customer, because we weren’t treated like we mattered.
Well, the owners, David and Rachael, have recently returned after some years of unforeseen absence, and what a difference. Maintenance people have been hired. Lots of graveling, paving, tree-trimming, painting, pool repairs and other updates were put into place. The office is abuzz with activity and calls are answered, communication is open, and David and Rachael have now been consistently present 7 days a week, all day long. They’ve met with each of the full-timers and other winter Texans to get to know them, and it sure feels like we matter to them.
There was no incentive for me to write this review, nor did I get any discounts on my rent or favors. I’m just a retired teacher who thinks it’s important to tell people, and let others know, when they are doing well.
This RV Park is a wonderful park. The owners are very nice. It’s a quiet park. I will go back again.
We have stayed at Pecan Park Riverside on multiple occasions and as always the staff are super nice and willing to help at any moment. The grounds are always well kept and the RV sites clean and ready. The location can’t be beat to have access to the San Marcos River. The San Marcos River is truly the fountain of youth.
Half the spots are month or longer, the other half closest to the river are for short term stays (month or less). Yes its a bit pricier than other parks in the area, but youre paying for the prime river access which no other park anywhere near can boast of having, besides maybe the new fim fam place in new braunfels. I've been here going on two years, and absolutely love it! This place and the river have been a source of healing for me since my divorce... Almost all of the neighbors and guests are super friendly, and the few who aren't dont leave their campers anyway, so who cares! The river can get pretty wild in the summer with all the toobers, but is calm and peaceful in the off months. Management was unattentive at times in the past, but great strides have been made by the owners to correct any issues residents and guests may have. There are a lot of rules, but I feel like they keep the place from becoming a dump like so many other parks have. If I could give the place ten stars, I would!
