Ahn's Tae Kwon Do Institute

Master Ahn does an excellent job not just teaching the blocks, kicks, and punches of tae kwon do, but teaching the many critical qualities that are part of the discipline: respect for authority, self-respect, self-discipline, confidence, strength of mind, courtesy, hard work, and more. He is an exacting Master, and seems to understand how hard to push each student so they give their best efforts and achieve deep learning. We are grateful for the way he pours into our little man and are looking forward to when our young lady is ready to start.

Master Ahn is a great instructor and teaches his students focus, respect, and discipline. My 10 year old started TKD regularly since June and I saw a huge improvement, especially with focus and body coordination. He enjoys sparring now and learning when to strike and how to take hits. Master Ahn is fair when matching the kiddos, and they echo his teachings by showing support and encouragement toward each other. A wonderful environment for my son to grow.

My siblings and I have attended Tae Kwon Do for 15 years. Master Ahn is a phenomenal role model who cares about each of his students. We enjoyed going to classes each day. Through his school, I have met some of the most inspiring people, who have pushed me to be the best version of myself in and out of class. I highly recommend Ahn's Tae Kwon Do to everyone.

I started learning Tae Kwon Do from Master Ahn around 4 years ago when I moved to Frisco. Prior to that, I had been learning Karate from a different studio for about 7 years. It wasn't until I stepped foot in Ahn's Tae Kwon Do for the first time that I realized what a real martial arts education was about. Master Ahn is a real 6th degree black belt verified by the World Taekwondo Headquarters in South Korea, and he has dedicated his life to his craft. As a result, his school is not one of those "belt factories," and every single one of his students earn their ranks. He is not unnecessarily tough on any of his students, but he also will not advance anyone to the next belt if he does not believe they are ready.

Classes are structured in a way so that you improve your strength, technique, flexibility, and stamina all at the same time. I personally felt that I improved more in my first year with Master Ahn than I did in all 7 years at my previous school. I also feel that the self-defense Master Ahn teaches is much more practical and intuitive than the over-the-top, flamboyant movements taught at many other schools.

In addition to being an amazing Tae Kwon Do instructor, Master Ahn is a caring and compassionate person who you can talk to about anything. When I left for college a few months ago, he would periodically message me to ask how I was doing and talk about what was going on in my life. I have always felt like I could rely on him for support, and you do not come across people like that very often.

Ahn's Tae Kwon Do Institute is among the best schools in the DFW area, and I would highly recommend that anyone who is even slightly interested in learning this martial art give him a call and try out one of his classes. You will not regret it.
