Extremely friendly staff with a contagious good mood. A weekend dinner was 13.99 /lb for the toppings. Ingredients were fresh and a decent sauce bar. Grilled items were not available during our visito but it’s an option.
The processes is clearly detailed in the entrance. Pick your hot pot ingredients, weight them and select from 3 type of broth and multiple level of spicy or go dry hot pot and mix them with your preferred sauce mix from the sauce bar.
You could make yourself a super killer ramen with some ramen noodles, smoked/preserves pork belly, bean sprout, bamboo shoots, tofu and or veggies of your choice and few quail eggs. Also mix in some sesame oil or paste and green onions into the beef bone broth.
The bone broth (milky color) is my personal favorite as it’s super rich, healthy and kind of thick. But for days that I want something lighter I can pick the salty soup which is a clear and light consommé.
Overall, I think 1-1.5lbs per person is filling enough.
Obsessed with this place! Super cute concept of hot pot. You select toppings for your individual portion hotpot. It is by the pound and everything is reasonably priced! I highly recommend the tomato soup base!
Yin Tang has some of the most authentic Mala Tang that I've had. The prices are second to none at $12.99/lb, and you can help yourself to as much meat + vegetables that you want. I love the fact that the restaurant is like a self-serve buffet, and you can pick and choose what produce you want cooked. The broth that the food is cooked in is extremely hearty and has extreme depth. The sauce bar is also extensive and has all of the classic Mala Tang dipping sauces, including sesame paste, sacha (Chinese BBQ) sauce, and sesame oil.
The BBQ offered a la carte was pretty substandard, but why come to a Mala Tang place for BBQ, right?
Lastly, the service was absolutely phenomenal. There were only two servers who ran the entire front of house, and even during peak rush, they were able to tend to everyone's needs while getting food out quickly and efficiently.
Yin Tang has quickly become one of my Plano favorites for authentic Chinese food, and whether it's my first time or my 30th time, I'm sure my experience will be amazing. If you've read this far, give the restaurant a shot. I'm sure you won't regret it.
There is alot of choices here. You prepare the raw ingredients in a bowl, and submit it to be weighed at the register. They ask you the spiciness level and then charge by the pound.
You can make your own dipping sauce. The hotpot is served to you fresh and quickly. I really think this place is a gem, 5 stars for quality of service and ingredient.

The food here was very delicious, I had the medium spice, you go and pick out a bowl and tongs and put all the meat and veggies and seafood in the bowl, they will ask you what spice level you like, once done they will give you a bracelet with a nunber and afterwards you pay. The broth was super flavorful and the food was piping hot! Definitely recommend this restaurant.
