Avendelle Assisted Living on Merksem

My mother has been at Merksem Court for 3 years and celebrated her 100th birthday there! This facility, staff, and owners are the best - they treat all the residents like family with the best of care and create a very homelike environment for both the resident and their family. I highly recommend them!

Avendelle Merksem Ct. has been the answer to my prayers! My mother has been living there for 8 months and has been well cared for. The staff is very friendly, loving, and caring and makes sure that each resident receives the proper care that they need. They also have social events for the residents and their families that bring us all closer together and are lots of fun for everyone! I highly recommend this facility if you need a home for your loved one.

I don't write a lot of reviews, but I feel that I must for Avendelle on Merksem. I have an elderly aunt (90 years old), who is also deaf and blind, and several months ago we needed to find a comfortable home for her, as she was unable to continue to live safely alone in her own home. However, having lived alone for so long, she is very opinionated in her likes and dislikes (with many more of the latter). Given that, we determined that a residential setting would suit her best and set about to review a large list of providers.
Avendelle on Merksem immediately jumped to the top of the list, because of their professional, caring and capable condition of their home.
We also found their director to be most accommodating and reliable. She completely understands not only the needs of their residents, but of their families as well. Upon moving our aunt into the home, we found that not only were there no surprises, but that the experience exceeded even our hopes.
After going through this experience, I would recommend that one look first for a residential home facility over a larger facility (and having experience with such, as well, with my mother having been in one), and do specifically recommend Avendelle on Merksem. (As an additional aside, I had expected that the more personal level of care in a residential home would also mean an increased cost, but was very surprised that this is not, at all, the case - even being more affordable in most cases.)
