YAKER Hair Restoration + Med Spa (Joseph R. Yaker, MD)

Originally I went to Yaker for concerns about thinning hair, Natalie was amazing and I am excited about my treatment plan. When I found out they had a MedSpa I decided to check it out. Maya is nothing short of AMAZING! And their monthly membership is awesome! Maya has put together a plan to achieve my skin goals and really listened and heard my concerns. I am noticing a huge difference! The only issue is that I want to see her more often!

If you have the means to do this, you should go see Dr. Yaker, the below is why: (Forgive my long winded review, but I told him I would explain my honest experience with detail, and if it helps even one person who is trying to decide, a few minutes of time is worth it)

I will say at first I was skeptical about actually being able to get my hair back. I have a widows peak (2 door garage if you will - I will explain later) It just didn't seem possible for a normal guy like me. I have heard of movie stars and athletes that did something to restore/fix their hair, but not really any one on my end of the food chain.

The great news is that from everything I have witnessed and been a part of so far, it is absolutely realistic. I did a few consultations before I came to Dr. Yaker, and the comfort and confidence in the process after speaking with him is just not something I received from the others. He told me exactly what to expect and what the process would be like. Some of the agencies I went to did offer a free consult, but when you are doing something that is a big investment and as important to you as this, wouldn't you expect someone that is excellent at their profession charge you for his time? Oh and by the way, do your due diligence and meet with different clinics (you should!). What you will notice is that some doctors don't even meet with you, it is someone else. I will pay the $100 bucks, thanks.

I am not saying that if your consultation is free that the doctor(s) don't do a great job. I honestly don't know. The staff with Dr. Yaker just want to know that your are serious about this process, because trust me Dr. Yaker and team are very serious about helping you! He puts a premium on your comfort level - it seems to me he considers this as important to the process as the actual restoration itself. I consider myself a fairly discerning person, and he was not faking it.

Please note that I can only speak on the FUE procedure, but he will go over all options with you. I am 34 and had the FUE procedure. I am 3 weeks in and everything that he said would happen has gone down like he said. As I mentioned before I have a widows peak, which means that in the front of my head I have a stripe in the middle and nothing on either side of it. He calls it the 2 door garage! You are kind of nervous walking in there and that definitely made me laugh and put me at some ease. During the consult he even has you shoot a video with your phone of him explaining the process of your post op so you will know what to expect. I found that pretty funny too, but it was extremely helpful.

It is also important to note that this is a virtually pain free procedure if you do as instructed. During the procedure itself you get to watch Netflix or just go to sleep if you choose to take a sedative. I don't know if different procedures take a different length of time but mine took from around 8 am to 4pm. But don't worry, you get to eat and chill for a bit, although the staff told me most are asleep during a lot of it any way.

I will let him explain the procedures but please also note that he uses Platelet-Rich Plasma in your hair restoration. This is a process that basically increases the regenerative ability of your body in healing itself. Some of you have probably heard of athletes doing this for an injury, well apparently it works well with the hair regeneration too! I am not sure if other hair restoration doctors offer this, I just did not notice it until I met with him.

As the process of new hair growth can take up to a year or so, I will update once the process is complete. If you are on the fence, I just don't see how you could beat Dr. Yaker and team. First class and just a good dude.

I am in my early 20s and started losing my hair when I was 16. I never thought that my miniaturized hairs would actually sprout again and I'm so excited to see further improvement when I get my PRP treatment with Dr. Yaker. On top of that, I have seen Maya and Casey for my stubborn acne that I've had for almost 10 years and it's ALMOST GONE. I am telling you--moving to Texas was a blessing because I never would have met Natalie and the rest of the staff. I cannot understate how amazing these people are.

I had a great experience with Dr.Yaker and his team. I was nervous about trusting my hair to someone, but Dr.Yaker is extremely competent, ethical, honest and professional. I just can’t say enough good things about my experience. I’m excited to see what my 12 month result looks like.

Dr. Yaker, Nhanh and everyone else at TCHR are so nice and they genuinely care for their patients. I feel so lucky I came across them on google and I am so excited that I get to keep my hair. For the past few years I have tried various products including generic finasteride and rogaine but nothing worked. I slowly kept loosing hair and and I would get stressed about loosing hair! Last year, I finally started searching around and I found Dr. Yaker's office. He is easy to talk to and has a very conservative style of treatment. I thought I would need some sort of surgery but he actually suggested a non invasive/inexpensive approach (Formula 82M and finasteride plus) I am impressed. Its been one year and my hair is significantly thicker and some hair has grown in the back. I highly recommend him!
