Fischer Store

We stopped by out of curiosity and were not disapointed. Aside from the museum like experience the shopping portion of the store featured many top quality locally made products. One gets a warm feeling when walking in to browse.

I really enjoyed the place! Of all the times I've driven by, today was the first time in years it was open. I think the last time I went by and it was open was 1987 maybe. And before that maybe in the early '70s. But it was open today and we stopped. It was great seeing all the displays and reading the history of the place and the people.

If you enjoy any type of history, it is worth the visit!

A quaint little Texas community in the Texas Hill Country that l was fascinated by. The historic Fischer store was not open but plan to return when it is. Fischer Store, historic heart of the Fischer, Texas community!​​ Fischer Store is still owned by Hermann Fischer's descendants, who are focused on preserving and sharing the history of the general store, the family, and the community. Come visit the current store that was built in 1902! Open Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 5pm.

Historical building and great people. Worth a look inside. Go back in time as you walk through the doors of this old store and post office. Very interesting. They recently received a historical marker from the state of Texas.
