Super cute spot and the food is amazing. We had the chicken salad sandwich and chicken burger. Lemonade is fantastic! Sitting outside was probably not the best plan as it was drizzling and there were a lot of flies. Service was great despite it being Sunday and the place being busy Brooke was amazing and our glasses were never empty. Parking can be VERY difficult on Sunday because there is a market in the area you will have to find street parking or walk from the river post.
The atmosphere is so calming, you see the river, trees everywhere, birds chirping, and the food, so so good, I had the chicken and waffles, they were great, any chicken is outstanding. Deviled eggs were very creamy, Paola no cream corn was my favorite.
Great food, great service. Waitress was efficient and attentive. They were crowded but no fall off in service. Food came in timely manner, coffee cup stayed filled. Owner was very friendly and accommodating. He also checked on us, made conversation, and welcomed us back. Highly recommend, want to return to try dinner entrees next time.
The restaurant's farmhouse ambience creates a feeling that you are eating a home cooked meal. These homey dishes have been expertly elevated and far exceeded my expectations.
Before this meal, I can't say that CFC (chicken fried chicken) is my first go to at a nice restaurant but this was the best rendition of this comfort food that I have ever had. The golden crumb of the breading was light and crisp and the gravy was excellent. The green bean side was also prepared well and was seasoned nicely. Other members at the table had the special which was a steak with blue cheese topping (not pictured) and stated that their meals were prepared perfectly.
Dessert was the creme brulee which was excellent (sometimes restaurants will over torch the sugar and make it burnt).
Our waiter, Zack, was attentive and helpful and made the dinner that much more enjoyable.
Despite this being the opening of Wuerst Fest and parking was crowded, this restaurant seems to do a good job of monitoring their parking spaces as there were several open spots in their small lot.
I'd definitely go back to this restaurant to try more dishes. Only blip for me is that they do not make cocktails and only sell beer and wine but this is more of a commentary on my own drinking preferences and I did enjoy the wine that we had with dinner.
