We went to this church for mass. Very good service. Lots of wonderful families. Inside of this historic church building is breathtaking.
Special little replica mini cathedral! My grandparents lived close and were highly involved in the church ministries and contributors. Hand painted, incredible detail. Drop by, enjoy the beauty and spirituality, stretch your legs then go across the highway to Dieter Bros for some righteous BBQ, beer too!
Amazing Catholic Church that is worth stopping by to see the 100 plus year old church established by German immigrants. We attended Sunday mass here, and the inside of the church is very beautiful along with the old air organ. Take the time to drive 4 miles off of I-35 to visit this piece of history.
A hidden jewel of arquitecture in North Texas or DFW however you know it. Rare arquitecture like this will be found in the area. Built by German-Americans this community its so proud of their shrine. Just take US highway 82 west from I35 north, less than 10 miles from the largest casino in the world, Winstar.
Open 7 days a week from 7am to sundown, we stopped here on a Friday afternoon with no one but the maintenance guy Leon outside watering plants. He was kind enough to give us a tour of the church and grounds and give us some history. It's a very uniquely painted church which was completely repainted four years ago (took 2.5 years) so it's very vibrant inside. The stained glass is just gorgeous too! Behind the church is Our Lady of Lourdes Grotto (a fountain) which he said local farmers built by digging up any kind of rock they could find. There's also little chapels around the grounds built by some of the founding members of the church and which are cared for by family now. A very unique experience and easy to find right off Hwy. 82.
