Tia’s Tex-Mex

My other favorite Mexican joint is also inside a gas station so I may be biased 😅. Honestly stumbled across this place on a road trip and imagined average tex-mex. NO! THIS IS BY NO MEANS AVERAGE.

This place has all the best qualities of a hole in the wall authentic restaurant shoved into a gas station with a simple menu done PERFECT.

I only had the tacos, beans, rice and churro. Based on how good these were though, I would be SHOCKED if anything they offer was subpar.

They have some of the best meat I've ever had in a taco. Fresh off the grill , with a good amount of char on every piece. Onion, herbs , and lime on the side in a simple corn tortilla and the fresh fried churro😭🥴!! They do the simple stuff and just hit it out of the park. This is universal comfort food!

Delicious! Had dinner at this little gem tonight. I had the chicken quesadillas, and my son had the El Pastor tacos. Both were wonderful; the quesadillas had a generous portion of chicken and cheese....Yum! Try the churros....Thank me later!!!!

My friends I have found a gold mine in small town America. Welcome to Valley View, Texas, home to Tia’s Tex Mex. My coworker and I stopped at the Shell Gas Station for drinks and a quick snack and hidden in the back corner of the station is this gem. Ran by cousins Josh and Fred and named after their aunt Tia, you won’t find more love and passion for their craft than you will with these guys. I decided on the Pastor Taco plate (3 tacos and rice and beans). The meat was overflowing the taco, which isn’t typical for these type of tacos, and the onions and cilantro come on the side so you can add as much or little as you like. The meat is amazingly flavorful and the side of salsa provides just the right spice and kick. My friend had the Pollo Quesadilla plate. He said they were absolutely fantastic - hot and fresh as well. And as a closer we tried the churros. Wowzers. They are covered in cinnamon and sugar and filled with caramel, so mouth beware - they are hot but delicious. Do yourself a favor if you’re traveling I-35 through north Texas and give this place a try. We were informed by Fred that they have just purchased a closed restaurant down the road here and will be opening a full restaurant serving Tex Amex BBQ along with margaritas hopefully by the end of the year! Can’t wait to come back and visit this place again!

Oh! My!!!! Couldn’t believe the authentic delicious enchiladas with steak, not hamburger meat, best hot sauce, warm tortilla chips kept in a warmer, and then an amazing churro filled with Carmel.
So much food, beans and rice, I had to bring my cheese enchiladas home. Everything cooked to perfection. I highly recommend Tia’s. They are moving and expanding next to the empty Dairy. Queen building.God Bless and Good luck with your future move.

Such a great little spot located in the local Shell station. Counter service was fantastic and helpful when placing my order. I can’t wait to dig into this burrito. I thought it would be small but bring your appetite with you, these burritos will fill you up. The meat in my asada taco was juicy, and full of flavor. The salsa is amazing! I’ll be back for more!
