The day I was shopping online to get a cortisone injection for heel spur inflamed, this clinic was closed. I wish I didn't waste a day of my time, calling dozen podiatrist offices, walk-in clinics in Dallas/Plano in search of affordable out of pocket visit and injection procedure cost. I don't have insurance and my income is not up to spending $250 for both, which was the lowest quote. Some podiatric "corporations" - several docs under one roof - would charge $450 upfront, before your visit started, to "ensure" it doesn't remain unpaid. (????) I work standing so I needed a quick relief from pain and in some places I was told it is not a guarantee that a Dr would opt for injection. With an x-ray I had there was no need to "create"/discuss any other diagnosis and I could not afford to waste a $150 visit for just another "talk".
When I called Abrams Skillman Foot clinic, I got an appnt same day. It was not a glossy "poshy" office , like most of them nowadays look, which I was fine with as I came not for a spa but pain relief. There were several patients ahead of me but I didn't wait longer than 15-20 min. Dr. Kletz was straight to the point, didn't push for any other procedures nor tried to postpone the shot for the next visit or talk me into any other treatment. He administered the shot, invited for the 2nd if pain lingers, recommended over counter options for orthopedic soles to prevent condition from development and that was it. I saved $75 off the "lowest quote" given me by all of those "wanna sound like posh", arrogant and dismissive podiatric offices - at least that how their front desk staffers treated my inquiry.
I was impressed by a quality and affordability of the service at Abrams-Skillman Foot Clinic, clear communication from the Dr and his staff. In this rip-off era in medical industry places and Doctors like this are the backbone health providers and a last hope for working but not making enough to be decently insured general public.
