My experience with Joyce Kay for the past 10 months has been refreshing and rewarding. I started therapy seeking solutions to better cope with grief I was experiencing from past relationships with lovers including family. Joyce Kay helped me to understand how to create healthier relationships using the "value system". Additionally, she has helped me to become a person with more peace leading me to experience a more enjoyable life. I HIGHLY recommend Joyce Kay to anyone seeking guidance to more happiness and peace in their life.
I've been going to Joyce Kay for several years now and have referred to several friends to her. She provides concrete, actionable recommendations that I find extremely helpful. I originally went to see her for "bigger" issues, now see her for maintenance to prevent big issues from happening in the future.
I've been to several other therapists over the years without much in the way of results. With others, I've spent countless hours re-hashing my childhood, relationship with parents, etc without resolution on the issues in the here-and-now. Joyce Kay, on the other hand, will talk about your history when it seems connected to the current problems you want to address. However, she won't just have you go on indefinitely about it. I really appreciate this strategy and it gets results.
The location/environment is a bit unconventional. Just get over it and get on with the healing.
I had seen a couple different therapists a long time ago and spent most of my time since then doubting their benefit. However, I started seeing Joyce Kay last year when a friend recommended her after I separated from a long term partner. I don’t know what I would have done without her, and my opinion on therapy has changed completely.
She’s very effective at helping you take a personal inventory. I also found her to be very helpful from a conitive-behavioral standpoint. Together, we have built some effective strategies to cope with or resolve whatever is going on.... Would absolutely recommend.
She is an amazing counselor. Non-judgmental and completely understanding, it's easy to feel at-ease during what would normally be a difficult time. She's the best!
When it comes to working with a counselor I think that results are what really matters. Joyce Kay is an amazing listener and has helped me gain true insight on aspects of my life. It's not the typical "how do you feel about that"... there are true tools and plans she gives to help you move forward with your objectives. Also something to note: I almost didn't go to JK because I thought she would be christian based and push her beliefs on me. I was pleasantly surprised that she is a faithful person who can separate that from your time with her if that is what you choose. To be plain, if you want honest and compassionate feedback with real results, then Joyce Kay is an awesome choice.
