Dr. Littlefield recognized my horrible Family dynamics and my personal need for growth. I lost a Fiance whom I loved, but I worked on myself and eventually came to recognize that there was good, once I was able to get past all the pain. He gave me invaluable advice and insight. My wife and I are still married. Would you have guessed? There is an element in my personality that will always be peculiar, but I think that I have kept it from becoming self-destructive. I have also managed to help keep my wife and children safe and protected from my peculiarities and from things that go bump in the night. Your "Bud-isms" come up in our conversations quite often. I have learned to be a tender and kind and loving partner most days. I think that she likes me. I certainly adore her. Our therapy sessions brought up a lot of questions about consideration, about sexuality, morals and mores, externally imposed behavior, self-image, and what it really means to be in an emotionally and sexually exclusive relationship for a lifetime. I am an imperfect man who has overcome a lot, largely with your help. My wife echoes my sentiments about my gratitude to you. I wish you and your family well.
Dr. Littlefield (Bud) is absolutely the best therapist in DFW. I have seen three other therapists myself since 1998, and two more with my son as the patient. Without exception, Bud is the only therapist who was really helpful. My son's life changed for the better after only one appointment with Bud, who then helped me through an extremely difficult and contentious divorce. He has also been instrumental in helping me deal with a deeply painful childhood issue that I buried for nearly forty years. Furthermore, in my capacity as an office manager for a different group of therapists for over six years I've had ample opportunity to learn the difference between good and bad therapists; this added perspective reinforces my belief that Bud is the best.
I've recommended Bud without hesitation to everyone I know. His wisdom, intuition, empathy and non-judgmental nature are extraordinary. He's very relaxed and low pressure, but also blunt when necessary. I can't imagine a world without Bud and other therapists like him.
