“Have to say this is my absolute favorite Dallas apartment so far. I have lived in the same neighborhood for 5 years, first in a very old condo and then in the brand new apartments down the road. This one takes the cake. Reading the other reviews it seems like people were not prepared to live in an older community. So let me be clear - THIS BUILDING IS OLD. It was rehabbed and now has a nice interior but it is still old. The cockroaches do occasionally get in, but the community is good at spraying for them. And to be honest the giant ones live outside and migrate inside (for me at an average rate of two per year) FOR EVERY SINGLE DALLAS APARTMENT in this area. Regardless of how much you clean/bleach things. This was a shock to me at first being from the North so I get it but I recommend getting a cat if it bothers you that much. As for the community itself, very quiet. Nice mix of young families, retired people and professionals. Minimal college kids. A ton of beautiful, mature trees inside and outside the community that make it nice and shady. Very safe, walk-able neighborhood. A lot of people have dogs and they allow large dogs which is nice. For the amount of dogs I see at the Newport, there is very, very little dog waste lying around, especially compared to previous communities. Packages do not go missing and they are delivered to your unit as expected instead of going to a leasing office with inconvenient hours (like at other communities). Covered parking is always available in the gated lot. The manager, Maria, is very kind and quick to respond to emails. My two complaints are: #1 my unit was a little drafty with this winter being so cold. But again, OLD BUILDING. So you get what you expect. #2 you have to pay your rent physically by check with no online payment option. And this is hard for me because I am lazy and prefer autopay options.”

“My family and I have been attending RPUMC now for 3 years. We love the people there. I have a daughter in the youth group. It is not a large church, but we like the atmosphere of being part of a smaller group where you really get to know the people and not just see them on Sunday mornings.”

“My child has attended LMS since kindergarten and loves it. We have enjoyed the family community, the flexibility, and the individualized pace for work. Kids can work ahead in their areas of strength. Classes are multi-age yet small. The teachers problem-solve and welcome collaboration that enables a child to learn more effectively. There are camp outs and other activities that build community. We will definitely miss it when we leave! ”
