Great school, great people, good program, good instructors, good planes. Very thankful to be able to accomplish every step, until I’m able to fly the big birds. Way to go…but it will happen.
I've been a student at Coast Flight Training since August of 2021. I started with my PPL and since then I've received my instrument rating, commercial certificate, instructor certificate and commercial multi engine add-on. I have had a fantastic experience working with the administration and a wide variety of instructors. The staff are very passionate about their company and love of aviation. With Coast Flight it doesn't feel like you are just a number, as it may with other schools. The instructors at this school want you to succeed, and if you are struggling, they will make sure you get the best help you can so you can continue training. If you are hunting for flight schools in the area, I highly recommend you consider Coast Flight Training.
I started as a general training student in August 2021. Since then I've obtained my PPL and my instrument rating due to the great instruction I've received since day one. I look forward to the days I have a scheduled flight or ground instruction. I get to interact with many great individuals as well as utilize the amenities provided to the students. Overall, it's been a great experience and opportunity to be a part of the Coast Flight family.
I chose to attend Coast because they are part of the American Airlines Cadet Academy and I'm very happy with everything - in my opinion they are the top choice for pursuing a career in aviation.
The course is Part 61 but they are highly structured and run it as if it was a Part 141 (but with the bonus flexibility of a Part 61).
They have kept me on schedule and within budget - the estimate that they gave me before I started was very accurate.
I feel like they really care about the success of their students and are not just trying to milk you for flight hours like in some other schools. Good quality of instruction and they have existing relationships with DPEs so they are able to get checkrides dates lined up fairly quickly.
They have an excellent maintenance department on site and give students free unlimited access to desktop simulators - which came in handy for instrument training and learning the G1000.
They have financing options available and nice student housing they are partnered up with for students that move from out of state to attend the school.
