(June 12, 2017, 1:51 pm)A great big THUMBS UP and THANK YOU to Lt. Roe and Jose of Dallas Fire Station #12 for calming my nerves and easing my fears today.
My husband left a pretty full propane tank sitting out in the backyard. While I was back there enjoying the dog, the darn thing went "POP!" My dog and I both ran for cover but nothing else happened other than the oozing of gas fumes. This didn't seem like a reason to call 911, so I drove the 0.3 miles to our nearest station. After sharing my mini- adventure, they explained what was likely going on with the tank and that we were likely not in danger of it blowing up. They offered to come over and make sure it was off. Yay! I figured they'd come within the hour, at their leisure. Not at all. They were at my house within a minute of my own arrival! Turned out the thing had a mild leak. They related it under a shady tree and out of direct sunlight. My husband will return it and get a non-leaky one. So all's well that ends well!
Our family is very appreciative. Thanks to the entire team!
