Griplocked

UPDATE: Went in the store. After you go in the store, it makes sense why you can't see in from the outside. Inventory has plenty of room for growth; lot's of potential there.
You can take private lessons inside the store! The owner is friendly and casual. I immediately felt comfortable in his store. Biggest thing I saw is his involvement within his local disc golf community. It shows at this store, that he is helping grow this sport for his community; that's an automatic five stars, if you ask me.

Was in the Garland area for the first time in years and happened to drive by the place. I had no idea this was a disc golf store, otherwise I would have totally gone inside! Uuuugh!! I drove right by it but there is no window display. It just looks like you are staring at a half-silvered mirror on all the window panels. I've been playing this sport for about two years now and I should have put two-and-two together when I saw the name of the store. The jargon phrase, "griplocked" is a well-known phrase within the sport, for those that have received some form of training (even the virtual kind). My bad I guess. I'll have to stop by the next time I am in that part of town, for sure! I'm sure once I check out the interior of the facility, this place is probably a 4-start rating. :) Either way, it wouldn't hurt sales if there was a nice window display that made it inviting to pull into the parking lot and check the place out. Especially for attracting new comers to the sport.

Conveniently located right across the street from my beloved home course, Audubon. Dog Friendly. A fine shop for all your disc golf needs but that’s just the beginning.

The owner of the shop has accomplished something that no one has been able to do since the course was originally installed and that is getting the attention, involvement and engagement of the parks department. Through a combination of volunteer work, frequent events and getting the needs and wants of the disc golf community in front of the right people, the Audubon Disc Golf course has never been more playable or better maintained.

Update 5/12/23: changing my review from 1 star. Once you meet the owner, he really is an awesome guy, must've just been unlucky the other times I've tried to go. Hours can be wonky, but it's a one man show, and he's worth supporting.

prior review: 4 cars parked and waiting at 1:15pm on a Sunday, with a sign that says “out to lunch, be back soon”. No return time, no way to contact or communicate. This is now the third time I’ve attempted to come to this store, as I enjoy audobon, but I will not be trying to come back again.

Absolutely love this store! Great selection, helpful advice, and chill atmosphere. Also the guy who runs it has worked hard to help the Audubon course thrive and become such a great course. Check this place out when you get a chance!

Nice store with nice employees, sweet little used section with great prices. First time stopping by after playing Audubon many times. They even have a big net wall and a few practice baskets with discs to practice with.
