There are not a million animals here, but the place is peaceful and free. It has a petting area, a coloring area, benches, and great volunteers. This place is perfect for small children.Thank City of Irving, and the Farmer who lends the animals. I love Fritz Park Petting Farm! I love that this is offered free of charge in a city park...how cool is that! It's been around for many many years and is a tradition in our family. This is not a destination for tourists, but for us locals it's a treat!
This is just a fantastic place to take kids. It's a wonderful little petting zoo where you can pet gentle animals. My two young children were fascinated. I knew this was nearby but we had never been before. My children enjoyed it so much when a petting zoo visited their preschool that I thought we might check out this local spot. It's a jewel. I highly recommend it!
I love Fritz Park Petting Farm! I love that this is offered free of charge in a city park...how cool is that! It's been around for many many years and is a tradition in our family. This is not a destination for tourists, but for us locals it's a treat!... I took my two young boys to visit the farm this summer. My son loved petting the rabbits and goats. He also liked seeing the ducks and peacock. There are only a few animals to see but great for little kids. It's free which is great for families on a budget.
Remember this petting zoo is operated by the city of Irving and free of charge. In that light, I believe this place provides an exciting experience to see and pet livestock animals (for children). The animals, nothing exotic nor unusual, still give a good lesson to children that all living being is precious and worth for careful attention. I visited there with my two year old son, who loved to see the farm animals that he has known from reading books.
It's a free attraction some call "the best kept secret" in the City of Irving. See some of the furry friends at the Fritz Park Petting Farm...
