Irene is the best career service advisor ever! I had a lot of questions about my career and future and she helped me out a great deal. Just talking to her you can tell she’s very passionate about helping students realize their goals. I really appreciate her insight and suggestions for me moving forward.
During these difficult times as, we deal with the epidemic it's become unfortunately too common to receive subpar service from businesses you would otherwise expect excellence from. You may be wondering than by the tone of my intro why I am giving a 5-star rating, and it is due simply to the AMAZING CONVERSATION I had with Irene T. She went above and beyond what I expected to be a brief introduction and scheduling for a later appointment, but thankfully my expectations were wrong. I don't know if any other advisor would've provided the same degree of help as she did but I can say with certainty, Irene is one advisor who loves what she does and does it with care. She was very knowledgeable, insightful, and offered nothing but sensible and clear advice. Speaking with her felt like I was speaking with the friend you reach out to when you want to hear the truth and be put me on the right track. I guess what I'm saying is, she was superb.
Irene is the best! She was insightful and attentive to my concerns. She answered all my questions and went above and beyond with best practices to assist me. In the short time we were on the phone we really did build a rapport and I enjoyed the interaction!
This is an update with my continued guidance from a very special career coach that was assigned to me back in February, she has been there with me on an amazing journey of self discovery, self worth and more. Ms. Irene is so talented in opening your mind and getting you to see, understand and believe in your self, over the past 3 months she spent time to help me understand what I needed to focus on, she listens and is never in a rush to end our conservations. Even with a well tailored resume the journey seemed bleak, but my motto is "keep a healthy mental attitude, stay positive no matter what happens", the right job will come, and Ms. Irene's motto to me was "keep applying until you get an offer". As I write this review I have 1 tentative offer of employment with the U.S. Small Business Administration, and an upcoming interview with another company, but the process for me doesn't stop until I have a solid offer. Thank you Ms. Irene for your insight, support, and willingness to always listen and give me guidance. It means a lot when you have someone supporting you even if you never met them in person.
I am a recent graduate of DeVry, graduated Feb. 29 2020. I was having issues with my job search. Reached out to my career advisor, Irene Thompson, she noticed that my first issue was my resume that I had been sending out. She helped me revise my resume and gave me numerous tools to help me move forward in my job search. Highly recommend Irene for any and all issues in your new career search. Extremely nice, professional woman who is excellent at her job. If I could rate higher than 5 stars I would!!!!!
