Civil Audio Recording Studio by Michael Briggs

Michael is the absolute man! From the start he made our band feel welcome. He has great ears, knowledge, and patience. He genuinely cares about his client's work and making it sound as good as possible. He also charges VERY reasonable pricing for the product he delivers. If you're an artist in Texas, you owe it to yourself to work with Michael. Plus he makes great coffee, and has a very sweet cat.

My band, grey star ghost, just finished recording and mixing our debut album with Michael at Civil Audio. Michael is professional and efficient with your time while still being personable and providing a relaxing atmosphere. He has a fantastic ear and will point out things from an outside perspective that will make your sound better. He's encouraging and complimentary while still at times letting you know if something could be better, which is incredibly valuable because you know that when he's happy with something you will be happy with it.

In the mixing and mastering process he works quickly and addresses your feedback directly while also giving his perspective on what will sound best. It is truly a collaborative effort which to me produces the best results. I am super picky about the sound I'm going for and working with Michael, we were able to nail it. At the same time I would often use words like atmospheric, sound scapey, ethereal, dirty, and dark - which if I were in his shoes would drive me crazy - but he got it.

If you're wanting a great sounding recording at a difficult to beat cost, you'd be hard pressed to top Civil Audio. We plan on going back for the next one.

This is was my first time out-sourcing for mix and mastering. The experience started off a little rough around the edges, but we were only communicating through email. After improving communication with Michael through phone calls and in-person meetings, I could tell that he took his work seriously and wanted me to be satisfied with how it all turned out. He worked with my budget, gave me multiple options for revisions, and made sure he provided me with the final product that I wanted. The experience started with an online order for mix and mastering, and ended with me listening to the tracks at his studio and finalizing each one. It's not so often that you work with someone so dedicated in today's age.

A+ recording experience. Very knowledgeable and easy to work with. He really understands exactly what the artists are trying to achieve. I've recorded with Michael in 3 different bands, all vastly different genres and every recording session has been outstanding. I've recorded with a few other places in the past, but working with Michael at Civil Audio has by far been the best experience.

I absolutely loved the two days we spent recording here! The experience was calm and relaxing while still being extremely productive. Michael always had great advice and ideas and was very patient throughout the whole process. He listened to every idea we had and worked hard to get the exact sound we wanted. The quality of the recordings was outstanding and it reflects the hard work and attention he put into each song.
