I was needing help with estate planning and would give them 6 stars if I could. Phillip took the time up-front to actively listen to my estate planning needs, and was very satisfied with the high quality end product. In January 2019, my 8 year relationship ended. As part of a series of underhanded and vindictive events, my son’s father decided to steal $15K from my bank account, move to Florida with his family, and moved out of our house in the middle of the night while we were sleeping. In the Spring of 2019, I was randomly reported to CPS for allegedly physically abusing my children and other heinous accusations. At that time, I was clueless that it was my son’s father and his cohorts who had conspired to make those accusations which I would later learn was a strategy to gain an upper hand in custody proceedings.

Fast forward to Summer 2019, in an attempt to be a good co-parent, I agreed to send our son to visit With his father in Florida for summer vacation. As soon as our son was in my ex’s possession, I was served with a custody lawsuit where my son’s father was asking for sole custody of our child, the right to have him uprooted from his home and school and relocated from Texas to Florida to live with my ex and his sister (Where my son would have to share a small room with his dad—sigh), a hefty amount of child support, and requested that I have only supervised visitations when I have been his primary caretaker (financially, physically, emotionally). To boot, I had a mere 3 weeks before the hearing date to hire a lawyer and prepare.

I immediately asked around for family lawyer recommendations and Phillip Herr was at the top of everyone’s list. I was sold when I learned that he was a former Associate Judge.

From our first meeting to our hearing date (approximately 3 weeks) Phillip communicated frequently and kept me updated on his progress, as well as offered new ideas and strategies.

When my ex took the stand, Phillip blew me away with the order and the format of the questions he asked. There were many “gotcha” moments where Phillip made him buckle and exposed his lies. Not to mention how well Phillip organized and presented my evidence to the Judge. The Judge granted everything we asked for and ordered that my son be returned to me.

As a mother, the emotions I felt during this process were enough to push anyone over the edge. Instead, I hired Phillip Herr who quickly became a voice of reason and kept me calm and grounded.
