Quiet and pleasant wetlands with level walking trails around. Access is through the Keystone Heritage Park. While the birdlife may be an obvious feature keep an eye out for the local flora, both of which vary during the seasons.
A beautiful wetlands that is managed by High Desert Native Plants Nursery. An extensive trails that has many birds ducks and other various forms of wildlife. A beautiful walk around this area helps to preserve it beauty through a small entrance fee which goes to staff and maintain this area. The largest wetlands in the area that ebbs and flows with the seasons. Winter time has the water levels rise and summer bring a fall. There are bird blinds along the path as well as benches an look out points to get a better viewing angle. Defiantly worth checking out when in the area as this wetland is quite a body of life. The trails are well maintained and provide a soft walk medium of crushed walnut shells.
Expect a number of posts about Keystone Heritage Park the El Paso Desert Botanical Garden and the Kevin von Finger Wetlands. Entrance to the park is just $2 and there is an iron ranger that will gladly take your fee and donation, of course. Today I just ambled.
