Serenity Veterans Charity was a godsend for my disabled father who served during the Vietnam conflict. After several heart attacks and strokes his mobility had decreased severely but we wanted to support his choice to try to live independently in his apartment as long as it was safe for him.
However his carpets had gotten old and yucky without being replaced for 10 years. The apartment complex was willing to replace the carpets, but we had to find helpful volunteers to move all the furniture out and back, so the work could be done. With his fixed income, it was insurmountable to save up for traditional moving help.
His floors are now clean, hygienic, and he has a fresh lease on life. Serenity sent volunteers to help us with our project over 2 sessions. They were compassionate, honest and thorough, working alongside us to meet the challenge. We are extremely grateful for the work Serenity does for veterans in our community, helping veterans live with dignity after their service to our country.
I always find something there

The Lady that runs the place is very Dedicated to Veterans .
Her dad is even a Veteran. And she's very nice.
Always has a variety of neat stuff in the store.
My dad was a veteran. He just passed away.
Missing him is hard.
So by shopping here or donating items to sell
for funds to help other Veterans makes me feel good !
They fought hard battles to give us our Freedom.
This store and the couple who own it are such a Blessing .

Small in size big on savings 🤗
My father was a Vietnam Veteran and needed a place to stay after having some financial difficulties and becoming homeless, he found Serenity Veterans Village and lived there for several months at The Palmer and Waxahachie locations.
The owner Lauren is a truly amazing human being and has a heart of gold for dealing with all the issues that can come from a down and out Veteran...she deserves a medal for what she has to deal with! Unfortunately my father has since passed, but she always kept me informed of his situation since I do not live local and helped arrange me to collect all of his things and went out of her way to accommodate our schedule while we were in the area.
