Visited their first ever night time event, A Very Rayburn Christmas. Lighting for the parking lot entrance is non existent making it a sketchy driveway to find in the dark.
The staff and volunteers were very welcoming and informative. They had crafts and treats for visitors. The upstairs floor of the house was closed, which made the experience much shorter.
So much history here, and the best burgers are only a few minutes away!
It was excellent to learn the history behind the man. Touring the house was amazing. My 10 year old granddaughter loved it and wanted to live there. Honestly I did too.
I did not go there today. I have been there on several occasions and to see the simple elegance in which Mr. Sam lived is revealing. It is also fun to see his Cadillac which was purchased by so many well-wishers. As long as you are seeing where Mr. Sam lived, take a bit more time and see the magnificent Sam Rayburn Library. It's all right here in Bonham, Texas. We welcome you.
Friendly knowledgeable staff. This is a great place to take a step back in history and see both rural living and congressional history.
