A great place to spend time with the kids hunting fossils, digging in the dirt, and throwing clay: fun for all the ages.
Great place to take the kids & grandkids!
Everyone found a fossil or two to take home. It's not if you find fossils, it's if you're willing to carry the heavy fossils back up the hill to the car so be sure to bring a bucket for all of your treasurers.
The river is hiking-boot height, so suggest waders or water shoes. Found a few broken bottles, so don't advise going barefoot.
We had a great time. As everyone has said the stairs are dangerous, but as long as you are physically fit they are fine. I took a 3 and 5 year old down and up without issue. We had a great time in March with the river very low. We found tons of shells and imprints, but nothing more interesting. We were within half mile of the bridge and will go out further next time.
