(April 13, 2019, 6:24 pm)I'm from Nebraska and while I have always heard that Galveston is not your typical beach I loved it. I have also lived in Clearwater and St. Petersburg, FL. I have surfed in Costa Rica and been to many beaches in Mexico, Jamaica, and the Bahamas. I was in Galveston for the Half Ironman with a buddy, but now I have to go back with the whole family! It was awesome! Hope you enjoy the pics which include nearby restaurants and more.

(January 27, 2019, 8:20 pm)A great place to visit with children, can drive on the beach, more of a mud beach, children still like digging in it. There were skydivers jumping when we were there which was fun to watch.
Sea was quite calm. People fishing off the beach as well. Great to walk along
