Wow! I was very surprised at how tasty the food was, how much you get for your money, and how nice the servers were. We took our two big dogs to eat under the great covered patio which kept us out of the sun while looking at the beach. A server brought our pups a big water dish, which made us like the place even more.
I'm from Colorado and haven't had BBQ SO GOOD!! The meat on the ribs fell right off. Between the smoking of the meat and the dry rub seasoning it tasted so good I could eat there twice a day!
Absolutely fantastic!
Was visiting Galveston and decided to stop here for lunch on a cool Friday afternoon. It's right on the coast and you can view the ocean from one side full of windows of the restaurant. There's plenty of free parking available. The whole ambience is truly amazing.
Getting to the food - we ordered the following:
The loaded nachos - the best I've had in Texas - not kidding. It was oozing with cheese, and loaded with tomatoes, meat and jalapenos.
The chicken burger with fries - quite average, the fries unusually large and not very flavorful
Special margherita - It's premade, but pretty good with the right amount of tequila and flavor
The portions for all items were quite hefty, aptly fitting the saying - 'Everything is big in Texas'
The staff was very friendly, and the place was nearly empty, probably because we went for a really late lunch. There's probably a lot more vibe during peak hours on the weekend, when the place might be truly buzzing. You wouldn't expect it, but as great as Galveston is in top-notch weather, the nachos here was one of the highlights of my trip to Galveston from Dallas.
I would definitely visit here again if I were to travel to Galveston. Highly recommended!
Really good food and great friendly service. Hard to find during the busy season in Galveston. We stopped by Taco Cabana for my daughter before we came here and I’m pretty sure the people at Taco Cabana smoke crack before work. Taco cabana sucks! And Pit Stop are the Champions!!! Great BBQ too!!!
