“A nice pirate theme playground that is COVERED my kids loved. The restrooms were some of the cleanest public rest rooms I've been in! Let alone restrooms next to a beach! Many showers in bathroom to clean off all the sand. Little store for food and beach toys. The beach is kept very clean, lifeguards watching... my family was very impressed! ”

“Perfect spot to relax and to get out of the city. The parking is convenient, there is an entrance fee of $12.00. The chairs and umbrella are for rent for $35.00. The beach staff goes around collecting the money, so just pick whichever place you want to sit and a staff member will come to you.The chairs and umbrellas are picked up at 5:30pm, so be sure to spend some time there to get your money's worth if you rent. Otherwise, stop at Academy to pick up some chairs.”

“All around nice place. The one guy who is at the desk is very nice and helpful. The spots have water, electrical, and sewer. Very close the ocean for ease of access. One downside is there is minimal to no enforcement of the rules. But we have enjoyed and will continue to enjoy going again.”

“Very nice place. Solid and dependable, clean, nice staff. I don’t expect much from hotel breakfast and it was decent enough. My 2 comments for this place to consider are: you need another waffle maker, the waffle maker is clearly the centerpiece and main event of the breakfast line and with only 1 it got backed up pretty well. And the other thing is your coffee could use some work. I’m not expecting Gourmet, but it should at least taste like coffee not just be coffee colored water. That’s it, 2 very minor complaints. I definitely would recommend this place and stay here again.”

“If you love historical buildings with rich history you will love this place. Also, if you live the paranormal this is also a great place to stay. This hotel is supposedly haunted and has a great ghost tour you can go on that ends with a wonderful meal. But no matter what you are looking for you will find it here. From what we were told there is more paranormal activity in certain areas of the hotel than others. So if you are adventurous you can ask to stay in a room where there is high paranormal activity. Bit if you just want an elegant get away in a beautiful hotel that is rich with history you can ask to stay in an area that is not known to have paranormal activity. But whatever your reason for going. You will love this place.”

“Thanks to Miller's to pointing out my original review was incorrect. I had confused Miller's with another location on the seawall. So here goes... Do not judge Miller's by the building's bland exterior, as the decor is quite welcoming and rather cozy. It was a 30 minute wait, and worth staying put until we were seated for dinner. Service was spot on. When in Galveston try something you normally cannot get at home. We opted for shell fish, and it was quite good. Whether something is the "best" is very subjective, though I feel confident you would not be disappointed. I do not normally eat a lot of seafood, but crab and shrimp are my mainstays when venturing into the unknown. The big question everyone wants to know is "would I eat there again?" Yes. There were several interesting options on the menu, so I would order the crab again and then delve into the other offerings. The only knock against Miller's is the same issue up and down the seawall; parking can be a challenge.”

“I've been coming to the island my whole life and have never gone in this shop until today. Not only do they rent bikes and more, they have everything you need in one little shop. Reasonable prices too! I love that they have a lot of hand made items made by locals.”

“This is a convenient stop when you are coming into the island by ferry to stop and get odds and ends. On our last trip here I was able to get a variety of food stuffs including milk for my toddler, flip-flops and water. It is one of the first real stores you encounter when you get off the ferry and get to the seawall, so it's easy to get to and hard to miss”
