“I recently had the opportunity to visit Seasons. I am an RN and have been in many facilities over the years. I am fairly jaded and typically expect the worse. Seasons is such a pleasant surprise! The staff is knowledgeable about the residents' needs, wants, personal preferences, and level of ability. The smell of good food being prepared in the kitchen was wonderful and several residents commented on it during my visit. Family coming to visit were greeted like old friends. The building itself feels, looks, and functions like a home, not a facility. The manager, Robin Creel, is a busy woman with much to do but took the time to braid hair, talk to each resident, and made rounds to put eyes on everyone entrusted to her care. There is laughter and love in this home. I'm just sorry I missed Bingo day! It takes a lot to impress me, but Seasons did!”

“We currently live here, since our move from San Antonio, Texas the staff here has made it a smooth transition. From the beginning they have been helpful, considerate and very approachable on any concerns or questions we have. The laundry room is nice and cool, very clean as are the showers and rest rooms. It's quiet when it needs to be and people are polite, keep to themselves. The park itself is well maintained and rules are enforced without any incidents. I definitely recommend this RV Park to any potential residents looking for a place to home, whether it's temporary or permanent.”

“I kept a plane at the grass airstrip known as Volk Field in Hitchcock, Texas when Gus "Doc" Anagnostos owned it in the 1980's. He was a chiropractor with an office on 45th St. in Galveston. He was a WW2 veteran, Airborne, and kept parachuting into his 50's. He smoked and unfortunately died of lung cancer. He flew a Cessna taildragger. The rest of the pilots there were great older men with many wonderful stories. Hoot Gibson once did a few fly-bys in a small BeDe. The picture shows the dirt driveway. Along that dirt driveway you can see on the right what were open air hangers with roofs. My corrugated tin was used to wall one in. If you proceeded along that driveway the grass strip was on the right, along with the hangers. Gus let me paint my plane in one hanger. A fellow named Scooter had a red Smith biplane in the adjacent hanger. He welded a metal cup-holder into the Smith's cockpit. Hilarious guy. He asked me, "What color are you painting your plane?" I said, "B.M.W. red!" He said, "You should paint it yellow so when you crash in the swamp they can find you!" Good memories of Volk Field. R.I.P. boys!”
