Clayton and Cassey were amazing. We could not have asked for better people to work with us over the planning of our sister's Celebration of Life service. I would and will recommend this place and these gentleman for anyone that is having to go through a loss and needs help and guidance with making the arrangements for a loved one. These gentleman truly care about the families and community they serve. Thanks to all the staff at Scoggins you are truly appreciated!
I recently contacted Scoggins to inquire about printing prayer cards for my Mother. I failed to request cards be printed when she was taken care of by another funeral home in Louisville, KY and was scrambling to expedite. To my astonishment, Clayton offered to not only quickly print, but managed to have them ready the day of my request, and pro bono! Words cannot express my gratitude for the kindness provided!
UPDATE!!!
Once again the team at Scoggin's provided amazing service with kindness and compassion! They recently handled my mother's (Sudie Duffee) service and burial and did an amazing job. There are not enough words to express our gratitude for them! Highly recommend them!
My family was referred to Scoggins by a local cemetery when my father recently passed away. Tommy Scoggins and his staff were friendly, kind, compassionate and professional from start to finish. They handled everything with the sensitivity and ease needed in the difficult area of death. The day we went in to select a casket, sign documents and complete details was very difficult. We never felt rushed or prodded or that is was "business as usual". All the logistics were clear and they took time to explain everything in detail. They also contacted the VA to make arrangements for military honors for our Dad, a Korean War veteran. They definitely took our feelings and emotions seriously and that was so appreciated! Clayton was our main contact and he took care of everything on the day of the service. The video of the service Clayton does was also outstanding and allowed those who were not able to attend to be a part of the service.
Thank you Scoggins! You truly made a difference during such a difficult time!

Our son was stillborn recently and as you might imagine, the shock and grief was enormous for our family. Being new to the DFW area, we did not have a preferred funeral home and I dreaded calling around to various places to repeatedly explain our situation. A couple nurses who lived in Van Alstyne area recommended Scoggins so they were one of my first calls. After the initial phone conversation, I knew our search for a funeral home was over. From the very beginning, the staff was extremely patient, responsive, and compassionate. Clayton explained the entire cremation process clearly and followed up with me regularly up until the day of cremation. My family is grateful for the staff at Scoggins.
We recently lost our 9 year-old daughter and from the time we met Mr. Scoggins we knew she would be taken care of like his own. He made us feel so comfortable. He was very personable and genuinely cared about the grief that we were going through. He made our difficult journey a little easier and we knew everything would be taken care of. Clayton was so wonderful in helping us identify where she would be laid to rest and both of them were with us through this journey and beyond. It seems strange to recommend a funeral home but we can stay without hesitation that Scoggins Funeral Home was outstanding! We so appreciate their compassion, caring and genuine care for our daughter and family. "Thank you" is not enough for what they did!!
