  Beautiful, quiet, natural preserve increasingly surrounded by suburbia. Great birding location, and it is managed solely as a bird sanctuary.

  What a beautiful nature preserve! Well marked trails, lots of birds, very quiet. This privately owned sanctuary is a real treat. Kudos to the owners for giving everyone an opportunity to see so many species.

  Wonderful place to experience nature. Plenty of wildlife to see, and there are great trails to hike. Call ahead for available hours.

  FIRST THINGS FIRST! Make sure to email the owner beforehand, as the property is gated with a code! All the bad reviews for this place seem to be simply because of this fact, which is incredibly unfair in my opinion. This place is wonderful! Loads of wonderful birds, lots of neat blinds to sit at, and the paths are well managed. They even have courtesy bug spray (which you WILL need - something no park can avoid in San Antonio summer heat)! The property isn't massive, so you can easily find your way back to the parking lot.
