(February 26, 2015, 12:11 pm)I discovered Kingwood Yoga in college (Marita was teaching a class for Kingwood Community College—not sure if she still is), and I feel so fortunate. I have incorporated poses and breathing techniques I learned from her into my everyday life like when I’m on my period and have abdominal pain, when I have headaches, when I need energy at work, when I feel anxiety and it is just so helpful. I live 40 miles away from Kingwood now, but when I was pregnant I knew I had to drive to her for Prenatal Yoga if I wanted my unmedicated, natural birth. I felt so empowered and so confident in my body’s abilities during my super-quick labor. It was awesome! She has a natural gift that I haven’t found with other instructors I have tried. Her class is not like a typical yoga class because she gives each person a lot of individual attention (you feel like the whole class is just for you). She just knows exactly how to help you with any kind of pain or life optimization goal. I cannot wait for my daughter to turn the minimum age so she can go to Yoga for Kids with her!

(November 2, 2013, 4:33 pm)I began prenatal classes at Kingwood Yoga during my second trimester. I was having horrible hip and sciatic pain. Within a week the pain left and has not returned; I am now 4 weeks from delivery. I have always had back issues and prenatal yoga has helped tremendously with that as well. Both Marita (the owner) and Masako are incredible teachers, I have learned so much and feel so much better about my body and abilities. They listen to each person’s concerns and issues and customize each session to address these problems. I love how intimate and relaxing the environment is. So glad I decided to go with Kingwood Yoga!
