Dr. Hope D. Shipman, MD

I have known Dr. Shipman for 15 years +. She was my dad's Endocrinologist and when I transitioned to my first Endocrinologist I wasn't going to look further because I already knew an amazing one who has basically known my family since I was a kid. She's wonderful and spends a great deal of time going over your medical necessities. Some of the office staff could use a little more work or training on communication skills. Especially when asking whether or not you can get a call back from Dr. Shipman herself, or help with access to the emails. Instead they're telling you it's their policy to write everything down even if it has to do with patient/doctor confidentiality. (Which breaks HIPAA policies.) When I moved 10 years ago from Houston I tried other Endocrinologists, but found myself back with Dr. Shipman and so grateful I did myself the favor in going back to her.

Best Endo in Houston! Dr. Hope listens to all of my concerns. She is very honest in letting you know where you stand with your treatment and medications. So happy to be back in her care.

After looking for many years and doctors for help with my hypothyroidism I came across Dr Shipman. She is the best! Very grateful I found her.

She is straightforward, doesn't baby you and tells you like it is. If you want treatment for anything PCOS related, I recommend her. If you want your hand held and to be babied, I suggest another doctor. After she diagnosed me with PCOS, I lost over 50lbs with no surgery or diet pills - I feel amazing! She has great knowledge with this syndrome - I am so glad I found her. I must add that I foudn her over 5yrs ago... so I am not a newbie to her practice.
