“This is a very historic place for the Black community especially for the residence of the Fifth Ward. Some of the historical figures of the early days of the Fifth Ward as well as former Black American Veterans are buried here. There are also two Deputies that were supposedly killed in a case of mistaken identity resting here. I'm glad to see that all the overgrown grass and weeds have been cleaned up. However, I would love to see some of the headstones repaired and the perimeter re-fenced. Also, I would love to volunteer and help clean it next time.”
