The tour guide, Holmes (sp?) was informative, shared personal experiences and made civilians feel involved. The place is more robust internally than what is visible from the outside, with lots to see and to learn. Will be coming back next time!”

“Very informative. Told the history of the ship channel. Pointed out interesting sites along the way. There were two historical markers at the dock which told about the history of the area. They even had special things the kids could look at and match up to items they saw while we were on the water. Flags, ships, animals, etc. Free soda or water on the return trip back to the dock.”

“This space is amazing. It seems like it was a blank canvas but now has many different murals. On the back side they have a full collection where it says Houston Texas with various Htown things. All of the pieces are beautiful. If you love seeing street art this is a place to see some truly amazing pieces.”

“I enjoyed visiting this quiet house in fourth ward. It's one of several historical homes and churches all which are in walking distance from one another. The white picket fences really make it stand out. I only wish the museum section or house interior was open at the time. From what I hear, the inside is like going back in time. Make your way down to Bethel church, then walk here and you experience the true history of the Yates family and other freed blacks as they lived here after slavery was abolished. Perfect location to learn history of the area.”
