Savvas

I'd give this restaurant more stars if I could. By far the best food I've had since moving back to the NE Houston area a few months ago and easily some of the best Greek/Mediterranean food period. Their braised lamb shank (only available on the weekends) melts in your mouth and their gyro and chicken souvlaki are just excellent. It's a non-descript, no-frills spot with fast, friendly service and super delicious food.

Food is so fresh AND delicious, in a cozy, family setting with Greek music in the background.

Not fancy, very casual. Everything I've had has been excellent. Everyone I've taken has liked it. I will be a regular.

Being local to us, we go to Savvas regularly. Good menu, reasonable prices. Never had a bad meal here. Very casual/diner sort of feel.

Pretty good for the first timer. Loved the Greek cuisine here especially the sausage platter. The only disappointment was the egg plant humus. I don't know if it wasn't made right the way it should be or if it's the taste but we didn't like egg plant humus. Over all a good experience.
