Always good energy from the trainers; they are professional and definitely love what they do. Both my son and I are always looking forward to the classes.
(January 28, 2019, 11:32 am)After many years of different physical pursuits (triathlon, power lifting, etc.) I finally decided to give martial arts a shot. It is always a bit intimidating to come into an activity as a complete novice. But the team at Rilion Gracie Academy, and the other students, have been completely awesome. People are teaching me as much as I can absorb and helping me along my journey to develop this new skillset. It is wonderfully humbling to be submitted effortlessly by skilled BJJ practitioners because it demonstrates the possibilities of anyone, regardless of strength. What a cool martial art! The team is deeply experienced, and seems to go out of their way to support and guide their students. Within a week or two of attending open classes, I signed up for a 16-week 101 course. So far, I'm finding BJJ taught at Rilion Gracie Academy is a great workout, taught by a great team, and I'm learning self-defense skills that will hopefully serve me well if I'm ever put in a life and death situation. If you're thinking about jumping into BJJ, give this place a shot and come have some fun with us!
(October 12, 2017, 12:39 pm)My 5-year-old loves it here. All staff members are ultra-friendly and helpful and the instructors (led by Mr. Spenser for the BJJ Kids group) have the right mix of demanding discipline while having patience for the age group. Very much recommended.
(July 2, 2016, 9:11 pm)Our entire family attends Rilion Gracie Academy in Katy. Our kids, aged 10 and 11 absolutely LOVE it and it is very inspiring to watch the instructors with the kids. The are patient yet tough and the kids learn better for it. My husband and I are also taking lessons and we very much appreciate the family style atmosphere. But don't be fooled - you will work hard and learn a lot - you just smile a lot too.
(January 12, 2016, 2:45 pm)Great academy in Katy Area! The only one managed by Brazilians and 100% focused on providing a family friendly place for all. Staff is excellent with every level of student: kids, juniors, beginners, advanced, competitors etc. You have no excuse to ignore this great journey. Now is the perfect time to improve your life! :)
