Charis City Church

Today on Easter was my first time going to Charis. I was welcomed with wide opened arms and felt so much love from everyone! Yes, I will be going every Sunday!

I have attended and served several churches throughout my life, and I have recently experienced disillusionment with the reality of what churches are vs. what churches are called to be. A place for all kinds of people to gather to worship the Lord, uplift one another, learn, and serve others. In kindness. In grace. In love.

Perhaps you are like me and have experienced hurt in a church. Perhaps you too have felt “burned out” of trying to find a church that will accept you - and I mean truly accept you - in your struggles or fears.

I felt this way, until I found Charis City Church. It is a small church. Maybe 100-150 people on a Sunday. And it is truly a family. A group of people who love the Lord, people who are willing to serve their community and each other, and people who bestow grace upon grace to one another. I have received such grace and love in a way I could have never expected. It is real, and only through the power of the Jesus. I now serve on the worship team, and the experience has blessed me beyond words.

If you are thinking about visiting, here are some things you can expect on your visit:

** A service held in a large gymnasium in the Crossroads location. You will see signs at the front of the building where a large parking lot is. There are plenty of parking spaces, so you never need to worry about finding a spot.

** Two service times. They are held at 9:15am and 10:45am on Sundays.

** Smiles and conversation. The community is excellent about greeting everyone with a smile and hug. They will want to get to know you on a deeper level than your first name. The pastor is also approachable and available to chat.

** A community with a range of ages and life experiences. There is a kid’s service that is held simultaneously to the regular service that provides childcare, music, and lessons. I also engage in a community group that allows me to get to know more people in the church - I love it.

**Opportunities to serve and experience joy. The church serves the community (e.g., young mothers, unsheltered individuals). There are also different ways to serve depending on your strengths or areas of interest (e.g., music, tech, meeting people, etc.).

** Fun and meaningful music. There are a range of songs played, and I can say from my own experience that the band loves to worship the Lord and strives for excellence in their service.

** Succinct and poignant sermons - with a twist. Pastor Nathan does an excellent job providing Bible knowledge with easy-to-follow and structured lessons. He always throws in some silliness and humor that makes us all laugh.

I hope you visit, if you are considering it. I hope you can experience the joy and love that I have experienced in church.

Imagine being away from your family then coming home and walking through the front door and you are welcomed with open arms, thats what it was like when we visited Charis City for the first time. We immediately felt like we were home!! Unlike other church homes we have been members of, we have NEVER felt judged for our past and despite our past mistake we were not only welcomed like family but we were asked to be apart of the praise and worship team and have been able to serve in the homeless ministry. Pastor Nathan and Pastor Chris not only talk the talk but they walk the walk. They are very passionate about sharing the Love and word of God with the congregation and our community. Charis City is a mission minded church and is always willing to step in and lend a helping had to those in need. They truly are the hands and feet of Jesus Christ. Nathan and Chris are not afraid to preach the hard to hear topics of the Bible. Our praise and worship team is next level and there has not a Sunday I have not felt the Holy Spirit move!!! Our childrens ministry is growing and seeing the smiles on these children of Gods faces is so heart warming!!! My husband and I have found the most beautiful and loving and generous church family through Charis City church! We have longed for a young adult community to find friendship and community - and we found that here at Charis. I appreciate the God-fearing, Bible believing foundation of the church, the unconditional grace and love poured out to every member and visitor from the church members and staff members is amazing. We are a church that is serving God, growing and learning together how to live life as Christ had lived, serving others and ministering in our local and global communities, and being there for one another. I’m so blessed and grateful to be apart of the awesome things happening here at Charis!

Amazing community of bible believing christians. Everyone is so kind and welcoming and really shows the love of Christ. Pastor Nathan is very knowledgeable in the word and well spoken on stage as well as in casual conversation. If you're looking for a church home I highly encouraging stopping by. I'm sure you won't want to leave.
