I am surprised that nobody has written a review of this guy yet. This is overdue.
I first met Mardel (not sure if that's his name) around 10 years ago after a local retail shop estimated that I needed hundreds of dollars in front end repairs. I don't remember how I found Mardel, but he fixed only what was broken for under $100 and the car was fine. That was a different car.
I just took my VW Beetle to him because of uneven tire wear. He said I needed tie rod ends (inner and outer), struts (including springs and mounts) on both sides and I clearly did.
What is unusual is that I didn't have to pay the inflated auto shop price for the parts. He pointed to what I needed on the chart in his office, and told me to obtain the parts myself. I could get them in a hurry from an auto parts store or the dealership, or I could shop on-line and find the best balance between quality and cost (and I was able to optimize both). This alone saved me a lot. His estimate for the labor, including the alignment, was $280.
I could not recommend Mardel more highly. He is from Argentina, and is absolutely honest.
