(August 15, 2018, 1:24 pm)Excellent food. I had the Wednesday Pot Roast special with fries, fried okra, and mashed potatoes. What a meal. It was home cooked goodness just like grandma used to make. Try this place. Decor is a little dated but for the guys that are eating here it's right at home.
I love local places and this is a jewel. Try it.

(May 26, 2016, 9:17 am)Soul food, southern cooking. Call it whatever you like, it is good food in a good atmosphere where you can relax and enjoy a little escape from the hectic ways of city life. The ladies serving it up are always friendly and happy to see you. Nice helpings of daily entree served up with a choice of 3 vegetables only your grandma knew how to cook. If the daily selection isn't your thing, the burgers are a good substitute.
Leave the cell phone in the car and your attitude back in town while you enjoy some of the simpler things in life :)

(281) 370-5560. This is an awesome cash-only bar that doubles as a diner during the day, and a cash only watering hole at night. There used to be a lot of beer joints like this in Texas, but to my knowledge this is the I just love Mittelstaedt's. I work right around the corner, so we enjoy their lunch specials.
