Amenities 10/10
Food 10/10
Hospitality and customer service 100/10
Customer service is something i am most critical of (usually internally to myself). From the moment we booked they started the customer service experience by engaging via text message. This created a personal touch to a booking I had never experienced. It also made it much more appealing and easier to book “activities and Chefs meals” (which are delicious).
What really impressed me was on our final night.. South Texas got hit with a rare freeze, and this created some unforeseen and unfortunate obstacles for the staff due to water lines and other mechanical issues that were affected by this.
The staffs response starting with the GM Heather was most impressive to me. They aimed first to take care of each guest by servicing breakfast as usual and then they turned their attention to servicing the guest by offering things like credit for future stays etc.
it would of been easy to fold and panic as a staff but they focused on the customers first and it was the best customer service experience I have witnessed. We will be back, many times!
Thank you!
We spent a weekend at CR and it was a wonderful experience. It was the perfect place to get away and reconnect with nature. The staff was outstanding, every interaction was uplifting.
If you are able to, please try the chef experience with Chef Ezra, it is worth every penny!!
The place is a gem but the people made the experience unforgettable.
This is camping at it's best - BBQ dinner has the grill and food all prepped and ready for you to grill (no setup / take down). The bed & pillows are fantastic. The Chef's tasting was a truly unique experience and highly recommend. The tents are setup to offer the most privacy and sense of being alone. With only 12, it never feels crowded, you can be alone if you want or chat up a fellow camper. The team, Dustin, Heather and Ezra, really make the experience memorable.
Booked the honey moon suite for my husbands birthday and it did not disappoint. The inside is beautiful and can easily be kept at a comfortable temp even with the tent open. The attached washroom was perfect, with the most amazing shower. I highly recommend shelling out a little extra for the honeymoon suite, it was private and came with our own seating area right alone the cliff. The private view we got was worth the extra price. If you’re on the fence about the horseback riding add on do it. Gary was easy going and held great conversation. We had a great time all around. Definitely coming back.
Stayed there for a couple of days on our wedding anniversary. The idea of this arrangement is cool, and being so close to nature left us really amazed. Beautiful surroundings, nicely designed and furnished tents, a decent hiking trail. The lodge for meals/drinks is very inviting, and so is the fire pit area. Views are amazing, but not every tent comes with an open area view. We had morning coffee on our porch and enjoyed birds and nature sounds. Staff at the Collective is professional and friendly. Communication was easy, we were greeted and checked out smoothly. Breakfast is made from the locally sourced ingredients. A pastry box in the morning is a very nice touch, but I wish the pastry was at least warm if not freshly baked. Self cooked prepackaged BBQ dinner was less interesting as suggested cooking times didn't work with the heat intensity, and we ended up waiting for our dinner a bit too long. Also, not a big deal but it would have been nice to receive a small acknowledgement for our anniversary, since upon booking I was asked about the occasion for the stay. A truck noises nearby each morning were a bit annoying, but I guess not much could be done about that, and it might be temporary. Maybe it's just the beginning of the season, and later things will get into their places. To sum up, I'd go back again but would plan my stay to include more sightseeing and possibly different dining options.
