Copycatt Trailers

I don't haul my boat (22' Pontoon" long distances and such, I needed a basic trailer and at the time I did not want to pay the cost of the factory trailers. I bought my trailer about 5 years ago from this company and was shocked to see the negative reviews today. Sounds like a buyer beware type thing but my experience with the company was good. The trailer is NOT the quality that you get from a boat dealer, but if I remember right it was 1/3 the cost of one of those trailers. It's not powder coated, wiring is exposed (I put mine in PVC) and some other things. I had to leave my boat sitting for 3 years in storage, on the trailer - the wheels/tires they use all had air. 2 needed air added, 2 were fine. I'm installing better guides and installed those plastic bunk covers to help the boat slide on/off. I thought the folks (can't remember their names) were friendly enough and responsive. The one gripe I had - which is on me for the cost - is more/better guides could be used - my boat swayed on a windy day when loading and the sharp corner of one of the supports gouged a pontoon a little. Anyway - all-in-all for the money I'm fine with it. I feel like I paid for materials and welding time - from there I can customize it and still be way cheaper. After the 5 years of mild use, the welds seem fine which is what matters the most to me. When referencing folks to them though, I will keep these reviews in mind - but there tends to be two sides to these stories too.
