Great place to visit. Nice nature walking trails, camping area, picnic area, and large lake. We visited for a "leg stretch" and lunch as we were traveling through. I would recommend.
Very nice State Park, stayed in site 21, very good fishing lake. No fishing pier, bank and boat fishing. Restrooms and showers cleaned daily, little dated. Bill is one of the camp hosts. Very friendly and knowledgeable of the area. This is one of my favorite parks in Texas. No play ground but lots of hiking trails.
First time. The park is pretty good. The camp site that we had was good; it has full hookup which is always a plus for me. The swimming place was not far from where we stayed, the restrooms are like 1 minute or so from the camp site. There is plenty of parking for the vehicles next to the camp sites. The swimming area is okay it has slimming sand on the bottom, the deeper side is like 4 feet I am 4.11 and the water pas my shoulders. It is deep as you cross the rope that is divided the swimming area. My children really enjoy being there and definitely want to goback. The only thing that I did not like is that some people don't care about the signs. There were 3 persons that had their dogs in the water a Pitbul, and Poodles.
Excellent park for camping, water activities, and outdoor exploration. The Ranger gave us a demo about animals and their habitats and characteristics. She was awesome!
They have kayak rentals by the boat dock and lots of parking. The swim area was a little sandy, and it was roped off.
Nice hiking with well marked paths that were pretty flat and also bike friendly.
The sites are very versatile from pull through to concrete waters edge.
It's a good park for families, groups, or solo travelers.
My GPS took me through a tiny country back road, it looks a little sketchy but it ended up in the park.
Tip: Make sure you grab an amazing margarita in town if you go for some food at Roth's Seafood!
