Loved the prairie dogs. They are so cute!!! And interesting. We werent from the area. So its a nice change. A love the fact that they set a side a good area just for these guys!!!!
Much bigger park complex than I expected. It's pretty easy to find something for everyone in the family, with bike trails, prairie dogs, ball fields, golf, lake and stream fishing, boating, stand up paddle boarding... ...lots of picnic tables, and the bathrooms were clean when we visited. Lots of other attractions adjacent (amusement park, windmill museum, tons of old farm equipment, etc).
There's a carnival or fair going on, so it was quite busy over Easter weekend.. but it's a nice park, nice dog park area, a few ponds and water sources where you can watch the ducks and geese. It's a well kept up park!
This is the most beautiful park I've ever seen in Lubbock. Relaxing and peaceful. The day that we went was not cool nor warm weather. It was the best for walking and having a sit. The hearing the Prairie dogs' communication voices were awesome, too.
up and close with the cute prairie dogs. realized for the 1st time these small mammals only reproduce 1 time a year. they pop up and run from hole to hole tails waggin and they eat the food you bring to feed them it was adorable!
