I didn't choose Dr. Mcalpin, my insurance carrier did. Also I didn't go there for chiropractic treatment, I was there for an impairment rating for my WC claim. So I thought I'd share my experience for those that might be assigned to him for a similar reason.
So my WC treating doctor referred me to Dr. Mcalpin after she told me she wasn't going to the last time I saw her. I was surprised when his office called to schedule, so I told them I wasn't ready for the rating. Then I did some research, including touching base with an attorney to see if I should go ahead and get the rating done even though I still hadn't finished all my surgeries. Turns out I had to, so I called Mcalpin's office back explained my situation, they called my adjuster to confirm that it was the right step and for me scheduled for the next day.
I arrived a few minutes early for an 11:30 appointment and began filling out paperwork. His office manager was very polite and helpful, made some corrections to their file based on my paperwork and answered my questions. Turns out he had two patients being treated when I arrived and another showed up while I was doing paperwork. He worked me into the rotation and began with an interview to verify the notes he had from my treating doctor, then asked me to wait while he adjusted the 4th patient and send him on his way.
Then we finished my evaluation with some measurements for range of motion and he guided me through some of the intricacies of the WC system and showed me from his book how he reached my rating. Oh, he also called my surgeon and conferred with him to get an accurate assessment of the condition of my hip, which ended up being the basis for his rating. I was surprised that he would take the time to do that.
I thought he was fair and impartial in his assessment, knowledgeable in his understanding of the insurance process and thorough in his examination. To be sure the range of motion tests hurt, my hip needs replacing. Without that surgery I'll have a significant limp and limited mobility.
But now I know what I can do to move forward towards getting that done. And I've met the legal requirements to get the benefits of the insurance.
If I ever need a chiropractor, I'd consider this place. And if you need a WC impairment rating I definitely recommend Dr. Mcalpin.
BEST MASSAGE ANYWHERE. I have had massages in New York, Dallas, Denver, Hawaii, and even the Grand Caymans. However, the best massage therapist is right here in Lubbock Texas at McAlpin Chiropractic. Melinda Giese is the most talented and professional massage therapist I have ever had. Very focused and unbelievably talented in several different types of massage and for someone who exercises intensely, her deep tissue hits the spot, every time.
I have seen Dr. McAlpin on and off for a couple years now as I feel I need adjustments. He and his staff are very friendly. He helped me get through major issues with the piriformis muscle that was causing severe sciatic pain. I could barely walk! Be consistent and follow his advice. You won't regret it!
Thanks for getting me in the same day I called!
You guys always do a great job. As usual, I walked out pain free.
Thanks Dr. McAlpin -- your staff is great too!
Love you guys!
